Plan-B Marketing Ltd has come up with an innovative solution for companies who would like to have air or gas flowmeters permanently installed in multiple locations, but for whom the cost would be prohibitively high. The alternative is a flowmeter that can be easily moved between any number of pipes, quickly and easily, with simple press-in, pull-out insertion and removal.

                            The 'Ecliptical' Valve

When you want to move the flowmeter to a new location, you simply close the valve to stop the flow, remove the probe, cap off the port, and then reopen the valve to restart the gas flow - an operation that takes just seconds

Installing the flowmeter into a different pipe is just as easy. The valve has been designed so that the flowmeter probe auto-inserts to the correct depth, and in the correct orientation.

Although initially designed for for use with the FV 9071 Mass Flow Sensor, the Ecliptical Valve can accept other sensors with the use of a readily available adaptor with a 1/4" BSP female thread.

The flow sensor illustrated above is a mass flow sensor, optimised for accuracy, and suitable for 1", 1¼" , 1½ & 2" pipe sizes. The innovative design is based on Plan-B's successful ClimaAir technology, and is available with a choice of a 4-20mA analogue output, a frequency output, or with a user-settable switched output with a green/yellow LED.

Combining compact construction and easy installation with a robust design, the FV 9071 flowmeter, although designed primarily for use on compressed air systems up to 16 bar, may also be used with other gases including oxygen, nitrogen, helium, argon, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and many different hydrocarbons.
